Our ACER Computer

nightmare page.....

Want to experience the ultimate frustration when dealing with a computer manufacturing company? If you receive the treatment we did from ACER Australia, then you will be in line for a mental breakdown.

The company that doesn't look after it's customers

Great looking computers with a service department back-up that is almost none existent. Just wander down to ACER Computer repair department at Arthur street Homebush and speak to Joyce, Derek, Richard...... and then wait to see the action...... or lack of it as we found out in our case. Promises!!! WOW, world champions at promises. That's all you will get, certainly no assistance and certainly no result. They will ring you back...... CRAP!!! At least 9 times in the last week and no call back. Joyce there holds the record.

Experience 1. My Acer Computer broke down. I took it into the ACER Computer repair section at Homebush. Asked for a bit more RAM to be fitted as well as the repairs to be carried out. They told me that they don't fit extra RAM and that I would have to go to one of their repair agents. I took it to one of their advertised agents (half-way across the metropolitan area), He fitted the RAM to my now much traveled ACER Computer. Of course it didn't work too well when I got it home. After putting up with the problem for a week or two I took the ACER Computer back to ACER's repair centre at Homebush.

Well, they told me a week later........ you have the wrong sort of RAM in the computer!!!!!

Yes, they did produce some RAM there and then and fitted it when I sounded off about their pathetic efforts but not until I spoke to the Managing Directors personal assistant after faxing her the whole miserable story about the none performing ACER Australia service centre. Why would ACER not fit extra RAM to an ACER Computer if it needs it and the owner requests it? Ridiculous.

Experience 2.

Friday 12th February 2010. Acer Computer broken down again. I again took it into ACER Computers Repair centre at Arthur street Homebush. I dropped the faulty Acer computer off at approximately 10.40am as is printed on their ticket issued to me.

Ticket to Nowhere.

The person at the counter plugged my computer in, looked at his computer screen and immediately stated, "there is a corrupt file." "Can you give us a call in a week."

On Thursday 18th February (6 days later) I called ACER Australia repairs and asked how things were going. The reply was ..." Too early to tell you, it isn't ready yet, we will ring you when it is finished".

By the following Wednesday 24th February I hadn't heard anything so I rang again. I was told, "yes your computer is finished" I asked, "what happened to the phone call you were going to give us." "We texted you instead" I was told. No such text was sent to us. I now know these people lie repeatedly. They can't help themselves.

I asked the repair person, did you fit the extra RAM we discussed? ....... "No" was the reply. This was after one of their technicians said it would assist in the performance of the computer. I told them I wanted it fitting. They said "we will do that and ring you back later this afternoon". (Joyce). No phone call was received by us from ACER Australia.

Friday 26th February, rang ACER Australia repair centre at Homebush and spoke to Joyce again. She apologised for not calling back but said "yes the computer is ready to pick up" When I asked her about the RAM being fitted she said she would check up and call me back. She never did.

Monday 1st March. Rang ACER Australia and spoke to Derek. He handed me over to Joyce who said she would make sure the RAM was fitted and would ring me back within a couple of hours. No phone call came to me from ACER Australia repair Centre at Homebush.

Wednesday 3rd March. Rang ACER Australia's Head Office and asked to speak to the Managing Director or his personal Assistant. I think the receptionist said her name was "Annie" and that she would get her to ring me back. That call was made at around 10.00am. It's now late in the day and no call has been made so I would say that "Annie" has caught the same disease as the ACER Australia repair centre.

At approximately 11.00am, my wife rang the ACER Australia repair Centre at Homebush, spoke to Derek, who said he would check with Joyce, access the service notes and ring her back. That was 3 hours ago so you can say that they are consistent with their attitudes to the public. We know they never ring back. It's a lie they repeat day after day.

ACER Australia is a terrible company to do business with. Why anyone would purchase an ACER product is beyond me when they treat people like they have done to me and my wife. It's a wonder they are still in business.

My computer is still there and they can shove it!!!!

A woeful performance and a disgrace by ACER AUSTRALIA.

Looks good but the Homebush Service Department is a disgrace.

Would I ever buy another ACER? NO WAY!!

Just prior to Xmas, my wife bought me a new laptop. Here is the receipt. Note the brand!!

ACER, thank your service department for my change of brands of computers. I wish I had never heard of your company.

Ever tried to contact ACER Australia repair centre? Don't waste your breathe. It's an exercise in frustration. If you like guitar music and a sore ear and arm... go right ahead. You will hear that you are customer number 11 or 12 and then nothing else except the guitar player. No word of progress in the queue or any other communication. You could be holding on for hours.... and we did several times......... Never again.

ACER AUSTRALIA....... terrible company to deal with..........
